Two adults have died and more than 40 people are injured after a bus carrying students from Farmingdale School District in Long Island, New York, rolled over Thursday afternoon. Five or six students are in critical condition, and the bus driver is cooperating with authorities. The district is providing counseling services to those affected by the crash, which may have been caused by a mechanical issue.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the long-unsolved Gilgo Beach murders on Long Island. Rex Heuermann, 59, was taken into custody in Massapequa late Thursday and is expected to appear in court today. After more than a decade of searching, a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the unsolved murders of at least 10 women whose bodies were found on Long Island's Gilgo Beach. The suspect is from Massapequa, and there is a large police presence in Massapequa Park. Eleven sets of remains have been found in the area, but it is unclear if the suspect is connected to all of them.
