On January 20th, lawyers for the 5-year-old son of Keenan Anderson, who died after being shocked with a stun gun by Los Angeles police, filed a $50 million claim for damages against the city. The lawyers allege that the police used excessive force and violated Anderson’s civil rights, and are seeking damages for the wrongful death and trauma suffered by his son. The Anderson family’s lawyers are hopeful that the city will take responsibility for the tragedy and provide justice.
