The Marion Police Department has come under fire for raiding the offices of the Marion County Record and the home of its publisher and owner, Eric Meyer. Meyer has accused the police of causing enough stress to his 98-year-old mother, Joan, to cause her death. Press freedom watchdogs and civil rights organizations have called for an investigation into the raid, which they deem a violation of the First Amendment. The outcome of the investigation is yet to be seen.

The House Oversight Committee heard testimony from Devon Archer, a former business partner of Hunter Biden, on Monday. On Friday, former astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin celebrated his 93rd birthday by announcing his marriage to his longtime love, Dr. Anca Faur. The couple was married in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles, and Aldrin expressed his excitement in a tweet. Aldrin also thanked fans for their birthday wishes and was honored by the Living Legends of Aviation on the same day. This is Aldrin's fourth marriage.
