Kevin Seefried, a Delaware man, was sentenced to three years in prison for bringing a Confederate flag into the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot. U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump-appointed judge, found Seefried guilty of five charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. Court documents released Wednesday revealed that former President Donald Trump mistakenly identified E. Jean Carroll, the columnist who alleges he raped her in the 1990s, as his ex-wife Marla Maples in a photograph during a deposition as part of a defamation lawsuit filed by Carroll. Trump has denied the allegations, but his comments under oath threaten to undercut his repeated denials, as he incorrectly identified Carroll as his ex-wife. The case is ongoing and a ruling is expected soon.
