Payton Gendron, a 19-year-old White man, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the racist mass shooting that killed 10 people at a Buffalo grocery store last May. During the emotional sentencing hearing, Gendron expressed regret for his actions and admitted that he had acted out of hate. The hearing was briefly interrupted when a man charged toward Gendron, but he was quickly restrained and Gendron's sentence was ultimately handed down.
