Prince George's County Police Department has arrested 47-year-old Patrick Wojahn, former mayor of College Park, Maryland, on 56 counts of possession and distribution of child pornography. The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified the police department of a social media account distributing suspected child pornography. Wojahn, who had been mayor since 2013 and a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 2007 to 2015, resigned from his position the same day. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the department's Child and Vulnerable Adult Unit.

Constable David Carrick, a 48-year-old Metropolitan Police officer, has admitted to 49 offenses, including four counts of rape, false imprisonment and indecent assault. The Met Police has issued an apology for the breach of public trust and launched an internal investigation, while the victims have been praised for their bravery. Carrick is due to be sentenced on February 11th.
