Nicholas Lloyd Webber, the Grammy-nominated composer, record producer, and eldest son of Andrew Lloyd Webber, passed away on Saturday after a long battle with gastric cancer and pneumonia. Andrew Lloyd Webber was present with other loved ones at the hospital in Basingstoke, England, and had to miss the Broadway opening of his “Bad Cinderella” to be with his son. Nicholas was best known for his work on the BBC One’s “Love, Lies and Records” and his death is a great loss to the music world.

He had a successful career in theater, earning a Tony nomination in 1971 and appearing in the original Broadway production of “The Robber Bridegroom” in 1976. He is survived by his son, Christopher Kimbrough.
