Hamas Accuses Israel of Not Complying with Cease-Fire Deal, Delaying Release of Second Group of Hostages

The cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas, which includes the release of 50 hostages held by Hamas in exchange for 150 Palestinians imprisoned by Israel, was delayed due to a last-minute snag. On Friday, over three dozen Palestinian prisoners were released from Israeli prisons as part of the deal, and the second group of hostages was eventually released. The deal is expected to continue until Tuesday, with the remaining hostages to be released in the coming days.

Israel and Palestinian Militants Exchange Fire for Fifth Consecutive Day, Killing Four Civilians and Injuring Dozens More

For the fifth consecutive day, Israel and Palestinian militants have been exchanging fire in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 28 Palestinians and four Israeli civilians. Saturday saw the Islamic Jihad militant group launch dozens of rockets, while the Israeli military responded with airstrikes and raided the Balata refugee camp near Nablus, sparking a firefight that killed two Palestinians. Missile shrapnel from the conflict also struck an agricultural community in Israel's southern Negev desert, wounding three Palestinians.
