New York City police are investigating at least three late-night sewer incursions in Queens and Brooklyn since May 5. Officials said no arrests, injuries, damage or public health threat have been reported, but warned that entering the sewer system is illegal and dangerous.

The Coast Guard responded to a mayday broadcast on Friday morning from a man piloting a yacht in the Columbia River, rescuing him from the turbulent waters. The man was identified as 35-year-old Jericho Labonte, who was wanted in connection with a bizarre incident involving a dead fish left on the porch of the house used in the 1985 movie “The Goonies.” Labonte was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later arrested by police and is currently being held in the Clatsop County Jail.
