The FBI says some ransom demands tied to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance may still be legitimate, while others have been deemed extortion attempts. Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, vanished from her Tucson home in February.
Ciarre Campbell, the brother of Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell, has been charged with murder after their mother, Nateal Campbell, was found dead during an Atlanta welfare check. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
The Senate Ethics Committee dismissed a complaint from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna alleging misconduct by Sen. Ruben Gallego, saying it found no evidence he violated federal law, Senate rules or conduct standards. Gallego denied wrongdoing and called for an apology from Luna.
The Supreme Court will decide whether Arizona may require documentary proof of citizenship from people registering to vote with a state form. The case also covers state procedures for removing noncitizens from voter rolls before elections.
