Manchester United Mourns the Loss of Football Legend Sir Bobby Charlton

Sir Bobby Charlton, an English soccer icon and member of the 1966 World Cup-winning team, passed away at the age of 86. He was the leading scorer for both Manchester United and England for over 40 years and survived the Munich air disaster in 1958. His career was marked by sportsmanship, integrity, and outstanding football qualities, and he was remembered by Manchester United as a hero to millions. Geoff Hurst is now the only living member of the 1966 England team, and Charlton's family released a statement saying he died surrounded by his family.

Secretary of State Blinken Condemns Chinese Surveillance Balloon Intrusion and Stresses it Must Not Happen Again

Pope Benedict XVI Passes Away at 93 – A Look Back at His Life and Legacy

Pope Benedict XVI, the first pope to voluntarily abdicate the papal reins in nearly 600 years, has passed away at the age of 93. He was born Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger in 1927 in Marktl, Germany and was a staunch advocate for conservative Roman Catholicism. His funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, in St. Peter's Square, with Pope Francis presiding over the mass.
