A joint operation between the FBI and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) has resulted in the arrest of almost 100 people in the US and Australia on child sexual abuse allegations. Following the fatal shooting of two FBI agents in 2021, the FBI and AFP launched an investigation dubbed "Operation Bakis" which led to the arrest of 19 men in Australia and the rescue of 13 children. The FBI is working with international law enforcement partners to identify and apprehend any other individuals involved in the alleged child abuse network.
