Paula Abdul, a Grammy-winning singer and former judge on "American Idol," has filed a lawsuit against former "American Idol" and "So You Think You Can Dance" executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, accusing him of sexual assault and harassment. The suit alleges that Lythgoe assaulted Abdul in the early 2000s and around 2015, and seeks unspecified damages and a jury trial. Lythgoe has not yet commented on the allegations.
On Sunday morning, Imam Sayed Elnakib of the Omar Mosque in Paterson, New Jersey was attacked while leading prayer. The suspect, Serif Zorba, 32, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident and the local community has expressed shock and outrage, vowing to not let this act of violence define them. Imam Elnakib is in stable condition.
