A stabbing Sunday evening at New York City’s Penn Station injured multiple people, with NBC News reporting six injuries and the BBC reporting five. A suspect was taken into custody, and a senior law enforcement official told NBC there were no preliminary signs of terrorism.

Multiple people were shot near the Old West End Festival in Toledo, Ohio, police said. Authorities said they were searching for the suspect or suspects and asked residents and visitors to avoid the area.
Michael Gledhill, 44, has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of actor James Handy at a home in Los Angeles’ Tarzana neighborhood. Police said Gledhill, the son of Handy’s girlfriend, flagged down officers and told them he was the person they were looking for.

Police in Muscatine, Iowa, say 52-year-old Ryan Willis McFarland fatally shot six relatives before taking his own life while speaking with officers. Two victims were students and two were employees in the Muscatine Community School District.
