They ascended to the jail's rooftop through vents and plumbing, and then stole a 2009 Scion and headed south. Four of the five inmates were captured in Ohio, while the fifth was caught in Missouri.

Memphis Police Department Dismisses Five Officers Following Investigation into Death of Tyre Nichols

Five Memphis Police officers have been fired following an internal investigation into the death of Tyre Nichols, a Black driver who died three days after a traffic stop earlier this month. Five Individuals Plead Not Guilty to Charges Related to Death of Elijah McClain

Five individuals, including two police officers and two paramedics, have pleaded not guilty to charges related to the death of Elijah McClain in Aurora, Colorado in 2019. The charges stem from an incident in August 2019, when a 911 caller reported a man who seemed “sketchy” and the responding officers placed McClain in a chokehold and paramedics injected him with a powerful sedative. An amended autopsy report concluded that McClain would have most likely survived but for the administration of a dose of ketamine. The five individuals will be tried in three separate trials later this year.

Three Active-Duty Marines Arrested and Charged for Involvement in U.S. Capitol Riot on Jan. 6

Three U.S. Marines, Micah Coomer, Joshua Abate and Dodge Dale Hellonen, have been arrested and charged with four misdemeanors for their involvement in the Capitol riot on January 6th. The FBI identified them through footage and Coomer's Instagram account, which showed him expressing support for the Boogaloo Bois. The FBI is continuing to investigate the incident and more arrests are expected.
