Key takeaways:

  • Clavicular, real name Braden Peters, suffered a suspected overdose during a livestream in Miami and was hospitalized.
  • Miami Fire-Rescue responded but did not make patient contact as Peters was taken away in a personal vehicle.
  • Peters was arrested last month on battery charges related to a February incident involving two women at an Airbnb he rented.

Braden Peters, known online as Clavicular, was hospitalized Tuesday night in Miami following a suspected overdose during a livestream, his representative confirmed. The 20-year-old influencer, famous for promoting “looksmaxxing”—a trend focused on maximizing physical attractiveness through extreme measures—posted early Wednesday on X, “Just got home, that was brutal,” alongside a selfie showing what appeared to be cuts or blood on his face. He added, “The worst part of tonight was my face descending from the life support mask.”

Miami Fire-Rescue responded to reports of a medical emergency near 9th Street and South Miami Avenue in the Brickell area. However, when first responders arrived, they were informed that Peters had already been taken away in a personal vehicle and did not make patient contact. The agency stated, “We did not make patient contact and do not know who the individual was and cleared the scene.”

Peters’ representative, Mitchell Jackson, told NBC News, “Clavicular had a suspected overdose last night, and he was hospitalized. We have no further comment.”

Video from the livestream showed Peters sitting in a restaurant booth with two other influencers, including fellow streamer Androgenic. In the clip, Peters appeared disoriented, rubbing his eyes and slurring his words. When asked by Androgenic, “How f—– are you?” Peters replied, “Dude, I’m gone.” The video also shows Androgenic offering Peters adderall, a common ADHD medication often abused, before Peters slumped forward and the stream abruptly ended.

Androgenic posted on X that he “hadn’t seen [Clavicular] in this state before, and he went from speaking to being fairly unresponsive in mere seconds.” He added, “Within a minute we all realised the situation, turned the stream off, picked him up and rushed him to the hospital.”

Clavicular has gained notoriety for extreme “looksmaxxing” practices, including “bone smashing,” where he intentionally breaks facial bones to alter his appearance. His content and views have sparked controversy online.

Last month, Peters was arrested in Fort Lauderdale on battery charges stemming from a February incident in Osceola County, Florida. Authorities said Peters instigated a fight between two women at an Airbnb he rented and posted the altercation on social media to exploit them. Court records show he has not yet entered a plea.

Peters also recently walked out of a “60 Minutes Australia” interview when questioned about controversial social media figure Andrew Tate, saying, “I could teach you about looksmaxxing, and then maybe you could switch that up. But thanks for the time. Appreciate the interview,” before leaving the set.
