Former Georgia Election Workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss File New Lawsuit Against Rudy Giuliani to Stop False Accusations of Election Fraud

Two former Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, have filed a lawsuit against former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, asking a federal judge to permanently bar him from making false claims about them. The 10-page complaint argues that Giuliani has continued to falsely accuse the mother and daughter pair of committing election fraud even after a federal jury found his statements to be false and defamatory. The suit seeks to put an end to Giuliani’s false accusations and prevent him from continuing to make them in the future.

This trial in Washington will determine the amount of damages Rudy Giuliani must pay to two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, after he falsely accused them of fraud in the 2020 election. Lawyers for the two women played audio recordings in court of graphic and racist threats they received after Giuliani's baseless claims. On Tuesday, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss will take the stand as the fourth plaintiffs' witness, and the judge will then decide the amount of damages Giuliani must pay.

Federal Judge Rules Rudy Giuliani Liable for Damages After Defaming Georgia Election Workers

A federal judge has ruled that Rudy Giuliani is liable for damages after falsely claiming two former Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea "Shaye" Moss, had committed fraud during the 2020 presidential election. U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell wrote that Giuliani had refused to comply with his discovery obligations and thwarted Freeman and Moss's procedural rights to obtain any meaningful discovery. It is unclear how much damages Giuliani will be required to pay.

Giuliani Concedes to Making False Statements About Georgia Poll Workers in Court Filing

Rudy Giuliani, former personal attorney to former President Donald Trump, has conceded in a court filing that he made false statements about two Georgia poll workers, Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea "Shaye" Moss. The pair are suing Giuliani for defamation over baseless claims of fraud he made against them, and are seeking damages for the harm caused by the false statements, as well as punitive damages. Giuliani has argued that the concessions do not prevent him from asserting constitutional speech protections.
