On Friday morning, the U.S. Capitol Police confiscated an assault-style rifle with an extended magazine from an off-site delivery facility. The driver of the truck, Michael J. Donohue, was taken into custody and faces charges for possession of an unregistered firearm and ammunition. The investigation is ongoing, and the Capitol Police have not released any further information about the incident.

Kevin Seefried, a Delaware man, was sentenced to three years in prison for bringing a Confederate flag into the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot. U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, a Trump-appointed judge, found Seefried guilty of five charges, including obstruction of an official proceeding and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. Seefried is the first person to be sentenced in connection with the riot.
