A curious black bear has become the surprise star of motion-capture cameras set up in Boulder, Colorado, taking hundreds of "selfies" in an apparent impromptu photoshoot. The Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) team placed the cameras to observe local animals in the wild, but were surprised to find that of the 580 images captured by one camera, around 400 were of the same bear. The team is now using the bear’s selfies to help them better understand the local wildlife population and their habitats.

The Englewood Library in Colorado has been closed for the second time in a month due to methamphetamine contamination. Signs were placed on the outside doors of the library to advise visitors, and other spaces such as countertops also tested positive for lower levels of the drug. The city is now considering new protocols to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future and is working with local authorities to determine when the library can reopen.
