Oakland Athletics Take Major Step Forward in Plan to Build New Stadium in Las Vegas

The Oakland Athletics have taken a major step forward in their plan to build a new stadium in Las Vegas, with team president Dave Kaval announcing the purchase of a 49-acre site near the Las Vegas Strip. The stadium will have a seating capacity of 30,000 to 35,000 and will feature a retractable roof, and the A's will now work with Nevada and Clark County on a public-private partnership to fund the project. The team is excited to move forward and make their dream of a major league ballpark in Las Vegas a reality.

Lee's death has been met with shock and sadness from many in the tech world and beyond, and the arrest of a suspect brings some closure to the tragedy.

Oakland: 8 Shot, 1 Fatally, in Mass Shooting Near Mills College

On Monday evening, eight people were shot at a gas station in Oakland, California, with one of them fatally. Police were alerted to the scene by a ShotSpotter activation, and multiple hospitals then began alerting police they had received multiple patients suffering gunshot wounds. The seven injured people were in stable condition, and the identity of the deceased victim has not yet been released. This is the third mass shooting in California in as many days, and no suspects have been identified.

Desperate Search for 5-Year-Old Kyle Doan Continues Despite Unprecedented Rainfall in California

Search teams have been combing through a Central California creek for the past three days in search of 5-year-old Kyle Doan, who was swept away by floodwaters on Monday. Severe weather conditions have been hampering the search, with National Guard and search teams searching "bank to bank" and dive teams searching below the surface of the water. The Bay Area and Central Coast have been particularly hard hit by the storms, with more storms expected to bring unprecedented amounts of precipitation in the coming days.
