Three Memphis Fire Department Personnel Fired in Wake of Tyre Nichols’ Fatal Beating Death

This article discusses the ongoing investigation into the death of Tyre Nichols, who was beaten by Memphis police officers on January 8th. Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy said that the indictments are a step in the right direction, but that video footage of the arrest will be a key factor in determining the outcome of the case.

Five former Memphis police officers have been arrested in connection with the death of Tyre Nichols, and Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy is set to provide an update on the investigation Thursday, including an announcement of criminal charges. An autopsy showed that Nichols was severely beaten before he died, and police video of the stop is expected to be released Friday.
