Tragedy at Rainbow Bridge: Two Killed and CBP Officer Injured in Vehicle Explosion

Two people were killed and a Customs and Border Protection officer was injured in a vehicle explosion at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing near Niagara Falls, New York. The FBI is investigating the incident, which appears to have been a deliberate act, and an initial search did not find a secondary explosive or device. The Rainbow Bridge is one of the busiest crossings between the United States and Canada.

Strongest Earthquake in 40 Years Shakes Buffalo Area Residents

On Monday morning, residents of the Buffalo area were shaken awake by a 3.8-magnitude earthquake, the strongest recorded in the area in 40 years. Seismologist Yaareb Altaweel said the quake lasted a few seconds and sent residents into a panic. The U.S. Geological Survey is continuing to monitor the area for any further seismic activity and residents are urged to take precautions in case of any aftershocks.
