U.S. forces intercepted Iranian missiles and drones aimed at the Strait of Hormuz, Kuwait and Bahrain as talks with Tehran stalled. Fighting in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah is further complicating efforts to end the wider conflict.

Robin Pendery, a seasonal mountaineering ranger at Denali National Park and Preserve, died after falling into a crevasse while on climbing patrol near Mount McKinley’s 14,000-foot camp. The National Park Service said the death is under investigation.
The U.S. military said it downed four Iranian drones near the Strait of Hormuz and struck radar sites on Iran’s southern coast. Iran has not commented on those strikes, while both sides continue to dispute recent incidents in the Gulf.
The Justice Department said in court filings that the Trump administration’s proposed anti-weaponization fund is not going forward. It still urged federal judges to reject lawsuits seeking to block the fund on standing and justiciability grounds.
Putin said he sees “no point” in meeting Zelenskyy for now, rejecting Ukraine’s call for direct talks and a ceasefire. Zelenskyy said Russia was “choosing war again” as attacks continued across Ukraine and the Sea of Azov.
A federal judge blocked Trump administration policies that halted decisions on asylum, green cards, work permits and citizenship for many immigrants from 39 travel-ban countries. The judge said USCIS acted unlawfully and left applicants in “indeterminate legal limbo.”
John Bolton plans to plead guilty to one count of retaining classified national security information and pay a $2.25 million fine, according to CBS News. The former Trump national security adviser is expected to enter the plea June 26 in federal court in Maryland.
Hezbollah rejected a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal between Israel and Lebanon, saying any truce must begin with an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon. Israel said it would continue military operations as strikes and shelling were reported across the south.
