Secretary of State Antony Blinken has urged senators to swiftly confirm more than 60 nominees to key foreign policy positions, warning that leaving the roles unfilled would damage America's global standing and national security interests. Senator Rand Paul has blocked the confirmation of the nominees while seeking information on the origins of Covid-19, and Blinken has asked for the senators' leadership to swiftly confirm the nominees and reconsider or work with the Department to find a reasonable and expedited path forward. The confirmation of the nominees is seen as critical to the Biden administration's foreign policy agenda.

Silentworld Foundation Announces Discovery of the Montevideo Maru, Australia’s Largest Maritime Wartime Loss

A team of explorers have discovered the wreck of the Montevideo Maru, a Japanese ship that was torpedoed off the coast of the Philippines in 1942, resulting in Australia’s largest maritime wartime loss of 1,080 lives. Located at a depth of over 13,120 feet, the Silentworld Foundation is now working with the Australian government to protect and respect the site, as well as create a memorial to commemorate the lives lost.

Ben Ferencz, the last living prosecutor from the Nuremberg Trials, has passed away at the age of 99. He was a Chief Prosecutor for the United States Army during the trials and was responsible for prosecuting Nazi war criminals and documenting the atrocities of Nazi labor and concentration camps. Ferencz was a lifelong advocate for world peace and justice, and his legacy of justice and peace will continue to live on.
