Rapper Offset Stable After Shooting at Florida Casino

Rapper Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is in stable condition after being shot Monday evening near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, according to his representative and local authorities. The shooting occurred after 7 p.m. in the valet area outside the casino, the Seminole Police Department said in a statement. One individual was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The police confirmed that two people have been detained and that the investigation is ongoing. They added that the situation was quickly contained, the site is secure, and there is no threat to the public.

Offset’s representative confirmed he is currently receiving medical care and is being closely monitored. The rapper, who rose to fame as a member of the Grammy-nominated hip-hop group Migos, has strong ties to Atlanta, where the group originated. His connection to the city and influence on its music scene have prompted concern among fans and artists across Georgia.

Offset is currently in divorce proceedings with Cardi B, with whom he shares three children. The couple secretly married in September 2017 in Atlanta, and Cardi B announced her filing for divorce in 2024. The shooting incident also recalls the 2022 fatal shooting of Offset’s cousin Takeoff, another Migos member.

Law enforcement has not disclosed a motive for the shooting, and it remains unclear whether surveillance footage from the busy casino area will aid the investigation.
